In 2018 Ed directed 'Black Sheep', a documentary short for The Guardian, which won 13 international awards and was nominated for Best Documentary Short at the 91st Academy Awards. Ed Pfiester is a long time civil trial lawyer practicing in Los Angeles. He was born and grew up in West Texas, and attended the University of Texas at Austin undergraduate and law school. Ed then accepted a two year federal Law Clerkship with the late Chief US District Court Judge Albert Lee Stephens, Jr in LA, intending to return to Texas. He did not, but loves to visit West Texas several times a year. Ed co-produced and is a cast member in the narrative film "Blanche," filmed on location in West Texas.
