Born a friendly redhead, Kyra has always stood out in a crowd. Since her first word "Hi!" at nine months, Kyra has been comfortable speaking publicly and entertaining everyone. It was a natural progression to combine Kyra's confident and outgoing personality with the performing arts. Since booking her first role in the crime comedy series Psych at seven years old, Kyra has had a passion for acting. Since then, Kyra has gone on to act in guest roles in series such as ABC's Once Upon a Time, History channel's Six and Netflix' Brand New Cherry Flavor, to name a few. She continues to learn, grow, and hone her craft at Vancouver's esteemed acting school, McIlroy & Associates, training primarily with coach Beatrice King. As Kyra has always been a dynamic storyteller, she began training in musical theatre at the age of 4. Some of her highlights throughout the years have been playing the title role of Alice in Metro Theatre's outrageous pantomime Alice in Wonderland, Gracie Shinn in Gateway Theatre's Music Man, and Buttons in Theatre Under the Stars' Newsies. She also spent several years choreographing and performing in productions at her high school, where she graduated with straight A's from the french immersion program. Ever since her musical theatre classes introduced her to singing, Kyra has continued to devote time to her love of music. In addition to private lessons in singing and piano, she was deeply involved in the music department at school, playing alto saxophone in the concert band, trumpet in the jazz band, and singing with the concert and jazz choirs. She now puts her musical talent to use playing gigs around Vancouver and busking on Granville Island in the summer, where she sings and plays guitar in multiple groups. Kyra started her very first dance class in a diaper just before she turned 2 and has been dancing ever since! Kyra is able to change styles between classical ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, lyrical, tap, stage and hip hop, executing each performance authentically. Her charisma and stage presence most recently earned her the opportunity to dance on screen in Kenny Ortega's Netflix Original series Julie and the Phantoms. Kyra's extensive training in acting, dance, musical theatre and singing has led her to be a versatile and well rounded performer who has earned a reputation throughout the Vancouver scene as a hard working and enthusiastic artist.
