Uche Agada is an actor, known for Rise (2022).
Uche Aguh is a Nigerian-born-American-raised Filmmaker(Writer/Director/Actor) with a formal training in Medicine. After four years of Medical School with a focus in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery at the illustrious Howard University, he ventured into Filmmaking, moving to London where he studied Drama at the Identity School of Drama. He wrote, directed and starred in his very first short film- I Still Do (2016) a modern day Nigerian Love story, inspired by European Art House Cinema which landed him a feature in CNN. His follow up short Americanah (2017) based on the Novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was lauded in features by both Essence and The Huffington Post. His other shorts include The Beautiful Ones Are All Mad written by and starring himself and Rizelle Januk where he plays a bi-polar Psych-Hospital Patient under the care of Januk, and The Black Joker, a re-imagination of the very iconic and disturbed villain, also starring himself. His debut feature film, The House Invictus (2020) which he wrote and directed was released in 2020 on Amazon Prime after touring several Festivals and garnering a handful of awards, most notably, a nomination for HBO's Best Feature Film at the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival in 2019, an Oscar qualifying Film Festival. In 2021, Uche and long time collaborator Dennis Schmitz embarked on a journey to produce various independent Short Films. Uche wrote and directed four short films, all different in genres, style and themes, but each one of them centered on Black/African women. The Films include: Queen (2022) an Afro-juju, old Nollywood thriller starring Isio Esiekpe and Adwoa Akoto where the dark secrets of a loving seemingly normal immigrant London couple come to form when they find out they are pregnant with twins, The Disappearance of Raheem Bankole (2022), a Drama which stars Kayode Akinyemi and Shardiah Ssagala as a couple, who come to terms with the failures and successes of their marriage amidst the sudden disappearance of their only son, the Musical Drama- Dynamite (2022) co-executive produced and starring Ifeoma Nkiruka Chukwuogo who plays a bonafide superstar, Kiki mismanaged by an abusive husband, while she falls in love with a band-mate, and the Comedy The Kids Are Not All Right (2022), where four high society Accra women are called into the Headmistress' office after their kids have been up to no good, starring Kristen Adele, Adwoa Akoto, Buki Akiwumi, Gina Castel, and Princess Fathia Nkrumah. Uche considers himself lucky to be able to spread his love of storytelling both in front of and from behind the Camera. In a partnership with ESPN and the NFL Network, he actively documented stories of the road to recovery NFL Athletes faced after life altering injuries and setbacks. He's been fortunate to work with notable Sportsmen and women such as Kobe Bryant, Earl Thomas, Marquise Goodwin, Vince Young and Naomi Osaka. His other Screen acting works include the Short We Are (2017) which was produced in partnership with Issa Rae. His Theatre acting works include the plays Birthday by Joe Penhall and Into The Sambisa, directed by Hannah Bannister. Both of them performed with Identity Theatre, in London. As an Actor, Director and a Writer Uche pays close mind in execution of every minute detail of storytelling. His writing informs the directing, which in hand informs the performance. No one branch is more important than other. He is represented by CAA.
